A Parish Mentality

My question for discussion here is, what resources, training, etc., do you give your congregation to help in the area of outreach?  How are you meeting the needs of your neighbors (spiritually, physically, and beyond)?  Is it something we should even be concerned with?

Full disclosure: I work for TheCommon.org.  I'm also a ministry guy with a passion to see churches growing and reaching their communities.  I am here to personally and professionally learn and grow--not just promote a product.
